Achievement Ideas

So today on stream those who joined me on twitch came up with a lot of good idea for achievements. I wanted to continue the discussion here in case there are some more good ideas out there that were missed. I will keep adding to this post as new idea come up and eventually we will have a definitive list of achievements to implement.

As always your help is very much appreciated please do add to the discussion below it really helps.

NOTE: These are currently just ideas and are likely to change, be refined and many removed before they make it into the game.

Generic
  • Complete level on various difficulties
  • Unlock various species in formicarium
  • Fully upgrade each species
  • Max population in the campaign (formicarium 1 and 2)
  • Harvest X amount of leaves
    Harvest X amount resources
1.1 - New Home
  • Beat level in X amount of time
  • Beat level with only level 1 black ants
1.1 Challenge Mode
  • Beat the level after X number of crickets have spawned
1.2 - Subjugation
  • Beat the level after X amount of waves have spawned
  • Beat the level with only losing 1 egg (Add comment that you always lose 1)
  • Beat the level in X time
1.2 Challenge Mode
  • Get a cricket to kill a spider
Formicarium Challenge 1
  • Beat challenge 1 using only Formica Ereptor (not unlocked black ants)
2.1 - Rising Tide
  • Lose X number of ants to drowning and still win
  • Kill daytime beach wolf spider (Spawn a large beach wold spider on lowest level of beach in day 2 that the player must kill)
  • Have no enemy enter your nest
  • Clear resources from lowest beach the whole level
  • Do not build any workers
Challenge Mode
  • Kill X BTBL
2.2 - Queen of the Hill
  • Harvest some fish
  • Beat the level without using melee
  • Clear the underground
  • Kill X ladybirds
  • Build no workers
Challenge Mode
  • Get the enemy colony to kill BTBL
  • Feed X enemy colony to the BTBL
Challenge 2
  • Let no enemies enter the nest
  • Trigger queen ability
3.1
  • Kill enemy queen
  • Avoid using media
  • Clear out the underground
  • Make enemy colony retreat X number of times
  • Survive X waves of enemy majors
3.2
  • Kill the huge whip spider
  • Win the game after the army ants have invaded your nest
  • Clear out the underground
  • Clear the entire map of leaves before winning
  • Survive X nights before winning
Challenge 3
  • Prevent enemy colony from picking up any food
  • Kill the enemy colony in X time
  • Lose no ants to the finger of death
Freeplay
  • Beat wave 20
  • Reach score X in freeplay
  • Reach population workers
  • Reach population limit soldiers
  • Kill an uber
  • Kill X ubers
  • Win a game with each victory condition at a threshold
  • Win a game with Fog of War on
  • Win a game with disabled enemy fighting

  • Generic: Kill X amount of a particular enemy type.
  • Generic: Have an ant in your colony suffer from at least three status effects at once.
  • 2.1: Kill a or X amount of creatures on the surface that spawn at night.
  • 2.1: Beat the level with at least one black ant worker alive.
  • 2.2: Kill a or X amount of wolf spiders.
  • 2.2: Let no enemies enter the nest.
  • 3.1 (3.2 is too easy to get by accident, since there are clear platforms they can be on): Position a hidden praying mantis in the center of your view for about 10 seconds.

Freeplay

1. Win a game with the black ants
2. Win a game with the wood ants
3. Win a game with the leafcutter ants
4. Reach score X with the black ants
5. Reach score X with the wood ants
6. Reach score X with the leafcutter ants
7. Reach wave X with the black ants
8. Reach wave X with the wood ants
9. Reach wave X with the leafcutter ants

Freeplay: Last X amount of time in freeplay (perhaps an hour, if you can go that long).
Might need to be amended so it only applies after you break the surface, and with requirements for there being nest invasions or other threats turned on.

Alternatively, it could just be a reward for playing freeplay long enough, regardless of whether you are actually in danger.

Fair enough.

Another possible achievement:

In the Formicarium, repel a whip spider, mantis, and tiger beetle within X seconds.

Colony
1.1 and 1.2: Beat the level without building anymore food store
1.2: Make the slavemaker kill the mole cricket (they can spawn in the middle of battle but I don't know which ant kill them)
2.1: Beat the level without killing enemy ant (I think possible on low difficulty using Balanite's strat, need to get out at night a lot though), or beat the level without killing adult tiger beetles
2.2: Beat the level without fighting underground creatures (don't know if possible)
Challenge 3: beat it only with species unlock and level 3 unlock (no other modification or upgrade)

Might be a tad bit late, but could you add a random dinosaur bone somewhere that makes it really hard to find, maybe make it so that it's not a preset location to add to the difficulty, but in return it gives some sort of achievement for finding it (maybe by having to utilize a feature like photo mode or something similar)? and yes, this is a very specific request made out of very obvious reasons dating back to the second kickstarter times.

They said in stream that there will be hidden achievement like that, similar to the hidden beetle corpse in 3.1, you won't know what those achievements are until you find them.

  • 3.2 - Kill a Rove Beetle/Devils Coach Horse while currently defending against army ant raiders.
    Also, if you can have names for the achievements, maybe name this one "Antposter!" because some rove beetles mimic army ants and participate in raids in order to eat their young or their rations without the ants suspecting them.
 
Some more achievements I came up with

Challenge 3
1. let the enemy ants kill X Preying Mantises
2. Survive for X time before killing the enemy queen
3. Don't lose more than X food/Resources
4. have only X amount of food/resources in storage or less before beginning the challenge

3.1
1. have the enemy kill a preying mantis a jumping spider and a harvestman
2. Don't let the enemy gather more than X leaves
3. Make the enemy run out of food

3.2
1. Have the army ants kill the large whip spider (Sorry antlover19)
2. Don't build any more Nursery tiles/Brood chambers except for expanding and upgrading the ones that currently exist by building the tiles/chambers next to those (Might be a bit hard also you won't be able to make Majors)
3. Defeat the Army Ants within X days
4. Don't let any scouts escape and letting them call in for reinforcements

I actually first came up with the idea: Have the army ants kill the large whip spider thank you very much!
 
Here are some ideas for level 3:2:
  1. do not let army ants make a second row in the entire level.
  2. try to make the massive Whip spider fight the Army ants.

Not trying to steal your achievement idea or anything I swear!

Edit: I actually did look and made sure not to copy others achievement ideas but I missed that one haha
 
I'm thinking maybe you could have like differents levels on the achievements like gold if you do it in insane, silver if you do it in hard, bronze if you do it in medium and simply unlocked if it was in easy
