Anti-ranged enemies

I think we could use some.

Possible implementations:

  • A long reaching attack that can hit ants that are farther back.
  • The ability and AI to run past ants in melee.
  • AI on a ranged attacker that randomly switches between targets in range.
  • A ranged attack on more than just wood ants

Currently, the game immensely favors the use of wood ants in every situation, as almost every enemy will have anti-melee abilities, but not one of them has anti-ranged abilities. The anti-ranged ability currently implemented is in mortars, which mostly target the closest enemy anyway, while it can't even be encountered with splash damage as an enemy.

Actually all formicine ants have formic acid, this includes Formica fusca (and all other Formica species), all Lasius species, all Camponotus species, all Nylanderia species and all Cataglyphis species. Most of them don't have the range Formica rufa has though (they use it more like the large black beetles' spray attack).

If flying insects get added I am sure they can be programmed to drop down on the weakest soldiers, or the gunners. Also a softer collision system could be added, so large enough creatures can just walk through the melee attackers.
