When in upgrade mode the food amount is quite difficult to see. It probably would be nice if you could have something like an half transparent box under these numbers, so they are not so easily confused with the numbers from the upgrade overlay.
I was going to suggest the same thing i hate having to move the screen around to a black spot to see the numbers clearly when upgrading they need a border/backgound!
