Ill have a look at this today, they will still cheat just not as much

It doesn't bother me they cheat, just that they suddenly have all their ants respawning took me by surprise. (Perhaps instead of an instant food injection they could receive the food over time?)

It would also avoid to have some colonies like mine where I retry the challenge because I can get their food by locking them in their formicarium and ocasionaly attacking the queen to trigger the food giving machine
maybe they could have some kind of opening inside their formicarium (a bit like those of surrounded) that spawns food for them
