Colony
Seeing the two Ereptor colonies fight in Formicarium Challenge 3 gave me ideas for different "factions" in the EotU universe.
So far, it seems that there is only two:
-Order
Red Ereptors (Default color)
-Chaos
Blue Ereptors
(The names were chosen based on what was in their respective formicariums)
They also have very different units suited for different play styles.
Order:
Basic attacker - Formica fusca, well rounded unit capable of being modified for different uses
Damage dealer - Formica rufa, has the advantage of being ranged and can either be formed to deal splash damage or target single enemies
Support/Tank - Atta cephalotes major, defensive unit that can formed to taunt or stun
Chaos:
Basic attacker - Formica sanguinea, better than their fusca counterparts but come with a more expensive price
Damage dealer - Trapjaw ants, deal lots of damage and can retreat to recover health quickly
Support/Tank - Army Ants, the media and minims combined with their major counterparts make for an unrelenting force that is weak to splash damage
I personally have an idea for a third faction based on economic output:
-Harvest
Green Ereptors
Basic attacker - Lasius niger, chosen for their cheap cost and effectiveness at gathering large quantities and different varieties of food
Main Harvesters - Atta cephalotes minims and media, together create large fungus gardens
Support - Honeypot ants. To store said amounts of food, they will need more effective storage. They additionally come with the benefit of producing a small amount more over time
