So what is the definition of an ant year?
Camponotus worker ants can grow really old, 2-3 years lifespan isn't really special for them, apparently some workers can grow up to 7 years old.
Most ant queens have a life span of 15-20 years, although some of them live much shorter (Solenopsis geminata about 7 years, Pharao and Argentine queens rarely grow older than 2 years).
