Back when I played SimAnt, I was always disappointed that more creatures weren't implemented. I'd really like to not only see ant's in this game as the only playable "Empire of the Undergrowth." the two main hive mind insects (they're the only two I can think of), are Termites and Bees/Wasps/Hornets. Termites I feel would be a lot easier to add to the game, and probably run very similarly to the ants. Bees and the like would be much more difficult to make playable, but they would make a cool AI enemy hive to fight in a Formicarium level or something. Also it'd be nice to ad some mammalian creatures to the mix of enemies. If you're looking for inspiration as for more insects/arachnids to add, there was a Television show on the Science channel (at least I think it was the science channel), called Monster Bug Wars, it's got great clips of different species of Ant's as well.
I know this game is about Ants... but other Colony/Hive bugs?
