Hermit crabs live inside found objects - usually snail shells - to protect their vulnerable hind. Whilst tiny when young, they're still a considerable foe to an even tinier ant. Their improvised armor makes them disproportionately tough, but if they can be brought down they'll provide valuable nutrition to the colony.
