Each week we post a high resolution screenshot to social media. To allow discussion of these we will now also be posting these to the forum.

This image of Leaving the Nest was posted on 11th March.

"Worker and soldier ants form trails as they stream out of their nest to forage for food. As they walk, ants reinforce a pheromone trail that others pick up on, forming natural lanes of traffic as the ants bring their spoils back to the colony.

In Empires of the Undergrowth, placing a pheromone marker on the surface will cause your ants to leave the nest - a dangerous but necessary step in raising a successful brood"

It looks really nice, i suggest you make it feel alive by putting little details and a variety of wild life

looking at the holes, I think the gene stealer queen should be able to make turtle ants, to protect the entrance.

Ps Look up turtle ants.

(note that we're not sure about including these as a playable unit, but they form a part of the planned story mode).

It would be cool if we'd be able to rich the surface from more than one hole from the underground map, can that be a feature to the game? I am assuming it might enhance the player's strategy options.

With a drastically decreased digging speed across the board (which would be a good thing anyway) they could act like armored doors do in dungeon keeper. Send one to a tile, hunker down and have an armored roadblock that can keep enemies from advancing into your territory for quite some time.

There's a chance we could do some levels that have more than one nest entrance.
