For some reason conventional wisdom dictates that you usually boast about being bigger, but look how tiny the fire ants are compared to leafcutters! The pictures show a level 1 fire ant worker vs. the ambient minims of the leafcutters, and then the queens of both!

The fire ant queen is just as mighty as her leafcutter equivalent, but in different ways - her brood overwhelms their opponents with numbers and painful stings. Fire ants and leafcutters won't be meeting in the campaign, but we thought their size differences were a fun comparison.

I've done some reading, it seems that leafcutter ant queen is about 30-40mm in length while fire ant queen is about 8-10mm in length. Isn't the difference a bit too drastic?

We actually scaled down the Atta cephalotes queen a little for the game. There are several leafcutter species.

Length is not a strong indicator of mass - assuming the same density, an organism twice as long is roughly four times as massive, for example.
