After the first few days on insane difficulty the entire map gets locked down by the environment creatures, effectively making the mission a loss. (After the first 2 days it becomes impossible to get a net positive when harvesting food, you will lose too many ants. And reaching the army ants becomes impossible too.)
I think the difficulty focus should be moved from the environment creatures to the army ants. (Instead of environment lockdown, the player would lose to the army ants.)
And the number of creatures should not change, but their size/level should be increased as the mission progresses instead. (After the first few days the army ants get much stronger as the ants go up in level, requiring the player to do much better too.)
