Why cant I get food!?

When I beat a mission I don't get food. Is this intentional or a bug?

It's on the surface. You need to carve out the entrance.

...which you can do by simply clicking on the lock icon above the blocked nest entrance.

About that lock... can you make it so when you click on it, you are transported to the surface? And make an above-surface lock that transports you underground in the same way.
