A guide to EotU randomizers and how they work

Worker
EotU randomizing is mainly done through the wheel of names site.
I also want to add randomizing is not something the developers made official, this is just something made by the community very, very recently, with the birth of the custom colony editor.
You can randomize whatever you want, but the "standard" randos will randomize:

-Queen species of every AI colony
-Your units
-Win condition
-upkeep, fog of war, randomized caverns, cavern freedom, floods, Uber creatures and the other minor options.
-Your upgrades

You can extend randomizers by randomizing landmarks, difficulty, win threshold, what creatures are enabled and pretty much every Freeplay option (the true randomizer)

The standard rando guide:

1. Queen species:
This is pretty straightforward, you'll include all the colony types and let the wheel choose for the ais and you.
You will always be custom, but AIs will have every option available. In the case they get gene-thief, you should use your main colony.

2. Your units and AI units:
The standard is 5 for randomizers, however you can do whatever number you desire, except the extremities, since its not really random then, is it?

3. Win condition:
Self explanatory. You let the wheel choose the win condition for you.

4. Misc options:
These are the little details that may or may not completely change how the rando plays, you let the wheel choose from yes or no options for the options, like fog of war, since everyone hates fog of war.

5. Your upgrades:
If you roll formicarium species, you can choose to roll for upgrades. You're required to remove both upgrades of their respective slot once you get one for said slot: you can't keep efficient brood in the pool if you roll aggressive brood.

6. Extra rules:
In the case ANY AI colony rolls custom, you do the same process as you would do for yourself, however, you can choose to not give them upgrades, but I would recommend giving them upgrades for added fun.
Cavern freedom is only usable if you got randomized caverns on. If you roll cavern freedom, you can change the underground to your liking.
You are also required to make cavern freedom a 1/10 chance.
You are required to remove medics from the list if you roll leafcutters as your or an AI's species (as medics are not compatible with leafcutters)

True randomizer guide:

1. Queen species:
The same as the standard randomizer however you also use the wheel to decide what gene thief colony is used

2.Your units and AI units:
Ranges from 1 to 7, the number is randomized too.
However, in the true rando, you don't eliminate units you get from the list, if you roll them again, you don't earn a new unit, so, you waste a roll.

3.Win condition:
You randomize the win threshold as well, EXCEPT for biomass and survival, those are difficult to get an exact number, in the case your roll them, do not change them.

4.Misc options:
The same as the standard randomizer with the added twist that every option is included, contrary to the standard options that can be randomized (upkeep, fog of war, rando caverns, floods, Uber creatures, nest invasions)

5. Your upgrades:
The same as the standard rando, except you also roll to see if you get to use upgrades or not.

6. Extra rules:
The same as the standard randomizer, however you are required to give AI colonies upgrades and you keep medics in the list regardless of your or an AI's colony species.

Answering some questions:

"I rolled 7 units but somehow only rolled black ants, what do I do?"
You only use black ants with whatever upgrades you get if any.

"I got a bad roll in this setting, can I skip it?"
I mean, no one's gonna stop you, but no, you cant skip stuff.

"I was doing a true randomizer but rolled medics on a leafcutter colony, what do I do now?"
You let the wheel decide on wether you can go for another round of rolling or you do it workers only.
