Formic Acid Attack (Rated E for Everyone)

I was thinking when you get stronger units the base hybrid soldier could be useless. So there could be an upgrade that makes them fire formic at other ants. When you click on their group a button will appear, you press it and time slows down kind of like V.A.T.S in the fallout series. Fallout 4 to be more exact when your mouse hovers above an enemy group an arrow in the shape of an arc points to that group. You left-click to initiate and the lasius to fire.

There will be different ranks to this attack.

Note: You can only do this above ground.

It won't work quite like this - instead you'll eventually be able to add Formica rufa to your colony, and then spawn a separate ranged unit that can fire formic acid at a distance.

There will be an upgrade system whereby you can upgrade individual tiles to create slightly larger and tougher ants from that tile.

Fun fact: The black garden ant (Lasius niger) actually HAS formic acid (just like the huge Camponotus sugar ants).
They can't just spray it around like wood ants can, what they do instead is they smear it onto their prey, usually targeting weak points like leg joints, open wounds and breathing organs - against most insects formic acid works like toxic gas.
