Are you in the beta.

You go to Menu (ESC) it is visible, click on it.


You see the Menu, you should see "Save free play" then it will be saved. You will go into options next.

(OPTIONAL) Go to options, and you should go to the gear icon then see Free play autosave. (This is kinda buggy) but you should have it on.

You can leave now the settings. Sorry for the bad drawings.

My original pirated game (which I didn't know was pirated) didn't allow me to save. But now I see the button and save auto works properly.

I was in the beta I'm guessing.
