I feel like it's an underrated area of study that's primarily targeted by people going into law. It's among the humanities, and covers a wide array of topics. These topics feature individual positions, discourse on what those positions mean, and arguments related to those positions.

And to add to this, each of these areas of philosophy has a lengthy and rich history. Of philosophical positions, the most famous go back to the Greeks, and the oldest appeared in ancient eastern philosophy.
If you get the opportunity, I couldn't urge you more to take a philosophy class as an elective. It's a great way to build critical thinking skills, and you may gain a new perspective of the world.
