I have encountered this lose so many times now in surrounded. I died because i had to much food. I had like 200 k points and 4000 food but at some point every food tile is full and every ant has food and cant fight because they cant store the food. They just stand there and get slaughtered. Workers stop transporting eggs to tiles because they are stuck with the food. In my Opinion the Tiger Beetle and the CoachHorse adults give to much food for what is needed to kill them.

This is actually a bug and it has been fixed, it is just we have not yet released a version with the fix in. If all food tiles are taken what should happen is the ants drop the food.

Additionally I feel soldier ants should probably drop food if they spot an enemy. Do you think this would be a good idea?

Will all ants on the map drop the food immediately, or do they first transport them to a storage tile? And which storage tile are they targeting? the last that was filled up or the nearest?

The ants only pick food up if there is space, however if the space is filled on their way they should drop it on there next check. If they are on the surface they will get underground before they drop the resource. When we release the next build we will be looking for feedback on this.

I see a bug(software) perhaps it is an old one, but i tell u this here, because it is a food threat.

A great bug(insect) was in my Foodstorage not the first time, but this time he killed a lot of my ants ... My Warrior Ants dropped the food and fight. But if the dropped food was to near on the Wall, nobody was taken it in the future.

Yes, and at the end i had so few Ants and no food. My ants cant get outside my nest, cause fighting ... and i died cause no food (but there was food in the wall).

I hope u can understand me or the bug ;D
if not, i tell u the bug in german and someone else can translate it :eek:

Al ants need to dropp food nerby a enemy and we need to be able to turn of al food collection at any times if we choose that opportunity.
If we use 1 team then we should be able to choose : Do not collect food at this team - and this way we can focus on defend -raid and other stuff whit this team and they do not waste time and splitt upp to runn to the nest whit food ( other ants may doing that from another team).

I generally agree. We have been batting ideas like this round for a while. Maybe just being able to turn off food collection for a group is enough.
 
We need them both - On a single group and for the entire coloni.

And here i wanne be able to deside a single group to only collect food at any cost ( if sombady attack them they do not fight back but keep going and collect food and runn to the food store and if they die in the attempt that is ok as long i have choose this opptunity for the moment.

( you have make a cave digger who do not fight back but keep going and digging upp the cave until he die so that should not be so much work to make the same whit the coloni -1 group as a food collecter at any cost )

The problem is : When you get attacked on al direction then nobady collect food before al nerby enemy is dead and sometimes the batle group do not collect afther they are finish but start to attack another enemy and another group enemy and.... and at the end al worker( and warrier ) is dead and nobady wanne collect food and that is not ok when we se alot of food everyplace at the moment the coloni is dead.

The same choose i wanne have on the worker who look afther the nest and they should only work whit the cocoon at any cost.
Many times my coloni die whit to much food and that because the worker join the batle so if i choose 1 group to only work whit the cocoon then it is up to me if i wanne turn it off.
