There's a fantasy book series called Chrysilis - about the evolution of a monstrous ant colony... It would be an incredible book adaptation

There's litterally hundreds of ideas that could be applied to this game in this series, from colony avatars, to magical warfare, to layers of terrain and other civilisation types.
This game instantly reminded myself of that series.
Reach out to the author, because your game would be perfect as a base for a mod or adaptation of that. Maybe Empires 2? o.0 But I guess it depends how true to life you'd like to keep it...
