I think thats the same for the little black ants, you will be able to play as them in freeplay and possibly a few extra levels. Maybe even an unlockable reward like the counterpart colony?

Also for those of you wondering if big headed ants were announced, yes, it is on their twitter. Apparently they haven't announced on their forum or the steam discussions, which is very weird if you ask me. Here is screenshot evidence.
