Basically yes. Honestly I rarely use my keyboard while playing (also the game seems to have a lack of shortkeys especially in the building menu). Even the groups can be selected by clicking at the large group symbols at the bottom part of the UI (no need to press number keys).
Do you have a progammable mouse where you can lay some keys onto your mouse buttons?
Though not required space and tab would be useful to have on the mouse (tab switches between underground and surface which you can also do by clicking on the minimap but it adds another layer of convenience as it remembers your last position, space switches to the marker for the selected group which again isn't really needed especially now that the markers show up on the minimap but it's just a very comfortable thing), I rarely ever use other keys than those two.
