no Food from missons?

I would like someone with the time to look into my situation. When i complete a mission i do not receive any food upon completion. I receive all other rewards, just not the food. Which i end up having to play the same mission three to four times to get the food i needed dropped in the formicarium for me to advance in the game. Please look into this. Thank you for your time. What are you doing exactly upon mission completion?

You need to collect the food from your formicarium surface - it is dropped there by the scientists when you finish a mission. Dig out your nest entrance to open up the second minimap that allows you to go to the surface.
