A double feature for this week's Screen Shot Saturday - first showing the Formicarium save feature, then the ant tech tree upgrade screen!
We're now near completion on a feature vital for the Formicarium mode we're debuting with early access - game saving. This won't be possible yet on the standalone missions and Formicarium side missions, just your home colony of ants.
As you can imagine, it's quite a difficult process to include a save game feature on something as complex as an RTS - particularly one like ours where the creatures think semi-autonomously. All that data - ant brains, tile states, food location, etc must be snapshotted for a successful save.
