Formicarium tech tree in free play

I think it would be great to have the option to enable the tech tree for each respective species faction from the formicarium mode into freeplay. Maybe have the queen passively generate royal jelly, so you can upgrade and tailor your ants the way you want during free play

Or, if not, something like the "Other Colony" extra mission. I am not sure what it is actually called, but all of the unlocks are on a timer.

I had a similar thought a while ago. It is something I would love to add. The issue is that there are other things freeplay needs like enemy colonies that really should take priority!

How would it work in freeplay colonies from colonies before the freeplay overhaul? My oldest save was before the update and after the update I found many new creatures appearing that I disabled. Is there a way to get into the settings of a old freeplay save?

I think the settings are permanent because all of my old saves I couldn’t do anything about so I had to start a new one.
