Gladiator Mode

Last night I had an idea for a mode, it was called gladiator mode. The scientists are mostly focused on the Formica Ereptia, but they do have some side experiments. Some were trying to make the perfect killing machine! Introducing the gladiators, genetically modified insects to be the most deadly of their kind. They are meant to dominate the wild or to exterminate ant colonies. You will be doing your usual thing like make a living space for them but smaller. But there is a small plastic chamber on the far left you can go into when you start a mission, and also cannot see inside.

You start by selecting your starting insect and choosing some basic enhancements. You then are dropped into the aforementioned formicarium, you then choose a mission and your gladiator goes into the little plastic pod. You are dropped into the level and it looks like the room was a means of transport. Usually, a level has 2 or 3 or more objectives, ranging from exterminating all the roaches in the nearby log, to kill an iguana or exterminate all nearby praying mantis egg cases. You then go back to the plastic pod and basically the scientists take you back to the lab. When you "complete" the level the first time there's sometimes more to do, and the more you go back to the levels the more destruction you will see your species has done to the environment.

When you get back you get DNA points (Coulden't come up with a better name) that you can spend on genetic enhancements to give to your gladiators. That's right you can have different types of them at once, you do have a limit just like in the ant game but much smaller because that would be overpowered. The order goes 3, 5, 8, 11. To progress to the next act you have to complete all of their individual challenges, speaking of them let me give you a few examples: freshwater crab vs leaches, scorpion vs assassin bugs, tiger beetle vs hermit crab and ants, tunnel web vs centipede, etc. Some species can have a second of its kind, and depending on its genetic enhancements (it can have 3).

Lets now talk about the genetic enhancements, there are ones that everybody can use like genetic hardening, venom, jumping, etc. But there are some like acid tail (for scorpions) and stinger legs (for tiger beetle) that are just for certain bugs. Genetic damage is where you modify your gladiators too much, at first there will be little penalty for changing things around then they will start to break down after a while. They will be less efficient and later their abilities will be less effective. When your creature completely breaks down it will die and can't get it's traits back. You basically have to buy a new one. You can repair their genes but it's expensive the worse it gets. The aforementioned genetic hardening can help slow down genetic breakdown if you use it. Thanks if you read this all the way through! :D

This is an interesting idea but I don't think they will have time to do it, at least not in the near future.
I especially like the idea of the organisms breaking from too much modification.

When you get back you get DNA points (Coulden't come up with a better name)
Well, still better than royal jelly... ;)
