Well, i have some ideas that Lille great to me, they are probably too difficult/expensive/complex to implement in the game.
An overworld: it world be great to have a sandbox mode, were the first thing you do is select the area your queen is going to emigrate, then you start from cero, and when you conquer the other ant colonies at your area, you enter the map mode again, and decide where you send the queen next. If you dont understand what im trying to say here, search a rimworld lets play on youtube.
Custom specie: here you create the especie you want, abilities, skin and etc
Different spawning places: some times you start on the normal place, others in a house, or in a mountain, or in a tree, etc.
Multiplayer.
Termites, they are like ants, but there mounds are crazy big, and breed crazy fast.
Construction floors in the mounds, to floor i mean like the floors of a multi story building, and a ramp connecting them.
