Steam Controller not working anymore :(

It seems since the last update (I assume because of new controller settings being added) the Steam Controller is no longer working as before.
I found it was the perfect controller for this game and was pre configured perfectly for this game!

But since the update I can no longer zoom in and out as before or quickly look at tile/ant status as before.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Is there a work around of any kind?

I love that controller for this game and would hate to lose its functionality for this game as I don't own any others.

Do you have any custom controller setup at all that might be conflicting with the official layout?
